Harmless political group, or extremists in suits?

Since before the fall of Husni Mubarak the group Ikhwan Al-Muslimeen (The Muslim Brotherhood) has been on the minds and lips of just about every pro-Western secular  political figure worth their weight in salt. It is feared that the exit of leaders like Mubarak will leave a power vacuum that can be filled by the brotherhood. Since then there has been an all out media assault attacking the notorious group and accusing them of having the "evil intention of establishing an Islamic government in Egypt". Plus neo conservatives have long been using Ikhwan as a boogeyman here in America. Finding a way (often dubiously) to tie every Islamic organization that they oppose to the brotherhood. It seems everyone knows all about Ikhwan Muslimoon... except American Muslims.
